Contrast

Every text and background pair used on this site was computed against the WCAG formula before it shipped. The lowest pair in use is 4.51 to 1, above the 4.5 threshold for text under 24 pixels. Nothing here relies on colour alone: a round with no stitch count says count not given in words, and a word the terms switch rewrites is marked by an underline as well as a colour.

Keyboard

Every control is reachable with Tab in the order it appears. The focus ring is a three-pixel green outline and is never removed. The skip link at the top of every page jumps straight to the patterns. The abbreviation keys are native disclosure elements, so Enter and Space open them and browser find-in-page opens them too.

Without JavaScript

With scripting switched off every page still renders in full. The menu is open, all 18 pattern cards are in the HTML, every abbreviation list is readable and every link works. The one missing element is the US/UK switch, which cannot do its job without a script and so is not shown at all.

Motion

There is no scroll-triggered animation anywhere on this site, no parallax, no carousel and no element that moves while you read. The only movement is a photograph growing by two percent under the pointer, and that is switched off for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.

Text size

Instruction text is set at 17 pixels with a line height of 1.78 on every device, and never shrinks on a small screen. Nothing on any page forces sideways scrolling at 360 pixels wide.
